The K-TOR Power Box pedal power generator is now available for purchase online at k-tor.com. After extensive testing and product development, K-TOR has finalized the production version of the Power Box pedal power generator and has begun assembling production units.
The first portable generator of its kind, the K-TOR Power Box delivers 20 watts of electricity at 120 volts DC. This revolutionary product provides access to electricity in any environment or situation. Designed for continuous operation, the K-TOR Power Box can directly charge almost any modern electronic device. The Power Box can also be used to charge 12 volt batteries. Many devices can be driven directly off of 12 volt batteries or an inverter can be hooked to a 12 volt battery to provide 120 volt ac and run a wide range of devices. Such batteries are a great store of energy and can be used to power larger appliances which cannot run directly off of the Power Box.
Folded up in storage mode, the generator weighs less than five pounds and is smaller than a shoe box. In a few quick steps the generator is converted from storage mode to generator mode. In generator mode, power is delivered via a universal outlet, simply plug in a compatible electronic device and start pedaling (90 rpm maximizes power output and efficiency).

Curious why the output is 120V DC. Seems that many chargers take 12V DC and other devices take 5V DC via USB. How many plug warts work on 120V DC, AC certainly.
Is this device as noisy as it sounds on the video?
Any thoughts of making one made using aluminum to cut the weight?
We were looking for the most universal interface which is the wall outlet. Almost all portable electronics come with switching wall chargers that are 10 watts or less. So this is the most universal interface out there looking backwards and forwards in time. Other choices could have been the 5 volt usb and 12 volt automotive but they are not as universal and wall chargers that put out 5 volt usb are common. 12 volt low power wall chargers are less common but readily available.
Dc vs AC because it works with all switching chargers which are the dominant type in the world and dc to dc conversion is the most efficient which is why they are the dominant type used and mandated for cell phones.
How long would it take to charge a 12volt deep cycle battery? I am looking to power 1 led grow light..very small operation.
Thanks!
Use the charger on our website and it will charge at .8 amps. Depends on the size of the battery, its condition, how old, and charge state.
the new higher power power box available by the end 2017 will charge at 3 amps.
sincerely
